Water Wave is a naturally textured wave, so its appearance can change depending on whether the hair is wet, freshly defined, fully dry, brushed, or fluffed.

When wet or freshly styled, the wave pattern may appear more defined and compact. As the hair dries, the waves can soften and expand, creating a fuller and more effortless finish.

The texture may require periodic refreshing to maintain definition, particularly after sleeping, extended wear, or exposure to humidity. Some variation throughout the wave pattern is normal and contributes to its natural appearance.

Water Wave requires moderate maintenance to keep its natural wave pattern looking defined, soft, and tangle-free. Unlike Body Wave, which can simply be brushed and restyled, Water Wave benefits from being treated more like a naturally textured wave.

The hair should be gently detangled and periodically refreshed with water and lightweight styling products to help maintain the wave pattern. It does not require the same level of section-by-section defining as tighter curly textures, but some styling and refreshing may be needed to maintain a polished, defined finish.

Regular cleansing is also important. Product buildup can weigh down the waves and make the texture appear less defined, so a proper clarifying wash followed by hydrating conditioner can help restore the hair's movement and natural pattern.

Wash and condition Water Wave approximately every 1–2 weeks, or as needed based on wear and product buildup. Gently detangle the hair during your routine, then apply lightweight styling products while the hair is damp to enhance the natural wave pattern.

Between wash days, refresh the hair with water and a small amount of lightweight product as needed. Avoid repeatedly layering product without cleansing, as buildup can weigh down the waves and reduce definition.

Allow the hair to air-dry for its natural wavy finish or use a diffuser when desired.

Water Wave can be worn naturally for a soft, flowing wavy look or defined with lightweight styling products for a more polished wave pattern.

For more volume, allow the hair to fully dry and gently separate or fluff the waves. For more definition, apply product while damp and allow the wave pattern to set with minimal manipulation while drying.

Water Wave can also be occasionally straightened, curled, crimped, or otherwise heat styled, but it is primarily designed to showcase its natural wave pattern.

Water Wave can be straightened, curled, or heat styled, but we recommend wearing it primarily in its natural wave pattern and keeping heat styling occasional. Like all Baibe Official Virgin textures, Water Wave's wave pattern is created through steam processing, and much like natural hair, repeated heat can gradually loosen that pattern over time.

If you love regularly switching between waves, curls, and straight styles, we recommend Body Wave, which is made for heat-styled looks, or Raw Indian Wavy, whose natural donor wave pattern can return after washing and conditioning as long as the hair hasn't been heat damaged.

When you do apply heat, always use a heat protectant and avoid unnecessarily high temperatures.

Water Wave sits between Body Wave and Deep Wave in definition. It has a more noticeable natural wave pattern than Body Wave while remaining softer and looser than Deep Wave.

Unlike Body Wave, which is especially popular as a foundation for heat-styled looks, Water Wave is designed to be worn and enjoyed in its natural wavy state while still offering occasional heat-styling versatility.

Our Water Wave texture features soft, flowing waves that create a naturally wavy finish with plenty of movement and body. The pattern is more defined than Body Wave while remaining looser and softer than Deep Wave, giving you an effortless in-between texture.

Unlike Body Wave, which many Baibes choose as a foundation for curls, layers, and other heat-styled looks, Water Wave is designed to shine in its natural wavy state. After washing and styling, the waves can be defined and enhanced for a polished wet-and-wavy look or allowed to dry into a softer, fuller finish.

Water Wave is ideal for Baibes who want visible texture and movement without committing to a tighter wave or curl pattern. It offers an easy, beachy look while still giving you the option to occasionally straighten, curl, or restyle the hair when desired.
