Naturally coarse + authentic donor curls

A naturally curly, beautifully coarse raw texture featuring unique curls directly from the donor. Raw Indian Curly requires consistent moisture and maintenance, but when properly cared for, it delivers an incredibly natural, full, and dimensional curly look that blends beautifully with natural hair.

What to expect

Raw Indian Curly is truly raw hair, and it should not be expected to look, feel, or behave exactly like a processed Virgin curly texture.

You should expect a naturally coarser feel, particularly when the hair is first received. Straight out of the package, Raw Indian Curly may initially feel dry, coarse, or less defined than expected. This does not represent what the hair will look or feel like once properly maintained.

A thorough wash, deep condition, detangling, and curl-defining routine should be completed before evaluating the texture. Once the hair receives the moisture it needs and is properly defined, the natural curl pattern comes to life and becomes noticeably softer, more manageable, and beautifully dimensional.

Because the curls come directly from individual donors, variation is expected. One bundle may have slightly larger curls, tighter sections, more volume, a different natural color, or a slightly different texture than another.

Raw Indian Curly also requires consistent moisture. When the hair becomes too dry or goes too long without proper cleansing and conditioning, its naturally coarse texture can become more noticeable and the hair may become increasingly difficult to detangle or define.

Like all curly hair, some tangling and frizz should be expected with normal wear. The curls naturally interact with one another, and tangling can become more noticeable when the hair is dry, has product buildup, experiences friction, or goes too long without being properly cleansed and detangled. Frizz and additional expansion may also occur as the hair is worn, manipulated, or exposed to humidity.

Raw Indian Curly is not intended to be the easiest curly texture in the collection. Its appeal is in its authenticity: when properly cared for, the result is an incredibly beautiful, natural-looking curly texture with dimension, body, movement, and a realistic blend that is difficult to replicate with a standardized curl pattern.

Is it right for you?

Choose Raw Indian Curly if you…

  • Want truly raw, unprocessed curly human hair
  • Love a naturally coarse, realistic texture
  • Want curls that blend beautifully with natural textured hair
  • Appreciate natural variation between bundles
  • Want a curl pattern with natural dimension rather than perfectly uniform curls
  • Are comfortable with a higher-maintenance curly texture
  • Don't mind washing and conditioning your extensions more frequently
  • Are willing to prioritize moisture and deep conditioning
  • Understand that proper curl definition takes time and technique
  • Love the transformation that happens once raw curly hair is properly moisturized and styled
  • Prioritize authenticity and a natural appearance over convenience

Consider another texture if you…

  • Want an extremely soft or silky texture straight out of the package
  • Want every bundle to have an identical curl pattern
  • Prefer a lower-maintenance curly texture
  • Don't want to regularly wash, condition, detangle, and define your hair
  • Prefer a standardized and highly predictable curl pattern
Hair care, step by step
1. Wash + condition

Wash and condition Raw Indian Curly approximately every 7–10 days, or more frequently as needed based on wear, dryness, styling, sweating, swimming, and product buildup.

When the hair begins to feel coated, heavy, tangled, dry, or more difficult to define, use a clarifying shampoo to thoroughly remove accumulated oils and styling products.

Always follow clarifying with a hydrating or deep conditioner to restore moisture, softness, and manageability. Because Raw Indian Curly naturally has a coarser texture, deep conditioning and maintaining proper moisture are especially important for keeping the hair manageable.

We strongly recommend completing a full wash and deep condition before the first wear, as the hair may initially feel significantly coarser or drier straight out of the package.

2. Detangle

Detangle Raw Indian Curly while the hair is wet or damp and thoroughly conditioned. Divide the hair into manageable sections, begin at the ends, and gradually work upward toward the roots using your fingers or a wide-tooth comb.

Use plenty of water and conditioner to provide moisture and slip during detangling. Avoid attempting to force through tangles when the hair is dry.

Consistent detangling is especially important. Allowing dryness and tangles to accumulate can make the naturally coarse curl pattern significantly more difficult to manage later.

3. Style + refresh

Apply moisturizing and curl-defining products to damp hair in sections, making sure water and product are thoroughly distributed throughout the curls.

Between wash days, refresh individual sections with water and/or a small amount of additional product as needed. Water and moisture should be the foundation of refreshing this texture rather than continuously layering oils onto dry hair.

If the hair becomes increasingly coated, tangled, dry-feeling, or difficult to define despite adding product, it may need to be properly clarified and conditioned rather than receiving additional product.

4. Dry + finish

Allow Raw Indian Curly to air-dry whenever possible or use a diffuser when desired. Avoid excessive manipulation while the curls are drying if you want greater definition.

Once completely dry, gently separate and fluff the curls to create your desired amount of volume. Because each donor's natural pattern is unique, the finished texture may have beautiful variation in curl size and shape throughout the hair.

Maintenance: High

Raw Indian Curly is one of our higher-maintenance textures because it combines the maintenance needs of naturally curly hair with the naturally coarser characteristics of truly raw hair.

Moisture is especially important with this texture. Raw Indian Curly can become noticeably dry, coarse, tangled, or difficult to define when it is not receiving enough moisture or when it goes too long between proper wash days. Consistent cleansing, deep conditioning, detangling, and curl defining will make a significant difference in how the hair looks and feels.

The texture may require more frequent washing and conditioning than our Virgin curly textures. Product buildup should not be mistaken for dryness and covered with additional oils or creams. When the hair begins feeling coated, tangled, heavy, or increasingly difficult to define, properly clarifying and conditioning the hair can help reset the texture.

Raw Indian Curly requires effort, but it responds beautifully to proper care. When clean, hydrated, detangled, and defined, the natural curl pattern becomes softer, more manageable, dimensional, and incredibly beautiful.

Typical routine

Wash and condition Raw Indian Curly approximately every 7–10 days, or more frequently as needed based on wear, dryness, styling, sweating, swimming, or product buildup.

Thoroughly condition the hair and gently detangle it in sections while wet or damp. Because this texture naturally has a coarser feel, using plenty of water and conditioner during detangling provides the moisture and slip needed to work through the curls without unnecessary pulling.

After detangling, apply moisturizing and curl-defining products to damp hair in sections and allow the curls to fully dry. Between wash days, refresh individual areas with water and/or additional product as needed.

When first receiving Raw Indian Curly, we strongly recommend completing a full wash and deep condition before evaluating the final feel or appearance of the texture.

Styling + heat

Ways to style

Raw Indian Curly can be worn in its naturally curly state or transformed into a variety of heat-styled looks.

For its natural curly finish, thoroughly moisturize and define the hair in sections while damp. Once dry, the curls can be separated and fluffed for additional volume and fullness.

The hair can also be blown out for a full, textured blowout look, flat-ironed for a smoother straight finish, or curled and styled with hot tools. Its naturally coarser texture creates beautiful body and volume when heat styled, making Raw Indian Curly especially versatile for Baibes who like to switch between natural curls and blown-out or styled looks.

Because the curl pattern is naturally occurring rather than created through steam processing, the hair can return to its natural curly pattern after being properly washed and conditioned, provided the hair has not experienced heat damage.

Heat styling

Raw Indian Curly is heat styling friendly and can be blown out, straightened, curled, or otherwise heat styled when you want to switch up your look.

Because the curl pattern is naturally occurring and has not been steam processed to create its texture, the hair can return to its natural curly state after being properly washed and conditioned, provided it has not been heat damaged. This makes Raw Indian Curly especially versatile for Baibes who enjoy alternating between curly and heat-styled looks.

When blown out, the hair's naturally coarser texture creates a beautiful, full blowout finish rather than an ultra-silky straight appearance. It can also be further straightened with a flat iron for a smoother finish or curled into different styles.

Always use a heat protectant and avoid excessive temperatures or repeated passes with hot tools. Like naturally growing hair, excessive heat can still cause permanent heat damage and alter the curl pattern.

Myths vs. facts

"Raw Indian Curly should feel extremely soft and silky straight out of the package." Not necessarily. Raw Indian Curly naturally has a coarser texture and can feel especially coarse or dry when first received. A proper wash and deep condition are essential before evaluating its final feel.

"Every bundle should have exactly the same curl pattern." No. Raw Indian Curly is not processed to create identical curls. The curl pattern comes naturally from each donor, so variations in curl size, shape, texture, color, and fullness are expected.

"If the hair feels dry, I should just keep adding oil." Not necessarily. Oil does not replace proper cleansing, conditioning, and hydration. If the hair has significant product buildup, adding more oil can make it increasingly coated and difficult to manage.

"If Raw Indian Curly requires more maintenance, the hair must be lower quality." No. Raw hair requires more maintenance because it has not been processed into a standardized extension texture. It behaves much more like naturally growing curly hair and requires consistent moisture, cleansing, conditioning, and detangling.

"Tangling and frizz mean something is wrong with the hair." Not necessarily. Curly hair naturally experiences some tangling and frizz. With Raw Indian Curly's coarser natural texture, dryness, friction, buildup, and inconsistent maintenance can make both more noticeable.

How it compares

Raw Indian Curly gets its curl pattern directly from the donor rather than being processed to create a standardized texture. This creates natural variation, dimension, and a noticeably coarser feel that blends beautifully with natural hair.

Compared with our Virgin curly textures, Raw Indian Curly requires more moisture, more consistent cleansing and conditioning, and more intentional maintenance. However, when properly hydrated and defined, it creates an incredibly natural, full, dimensional curly finish that showcases exactly why Baibes love raw hair.

About Raw Indian Curly

Raw Indian Curly is 100% raw, single-donor hair sourced from India, featuring the donor's naturally occurring curl pattern. The hair has not been processed to create or alter its texture, which means every bundle is genuinely unique and may vary slightly in curl pattern, color, texture, and fullness.

One of the most noticeable characteristics of Raw Indian Curly is its naturally coarser texture. It is noticeably coarser than our Virgin curly textures and can feel especially coarse or dry when first received. This is completely normal for this texture. A thorough wash, deep condition, and proper curl-defining routine are essential for adding moisture back into the hair and revealing how beautiful the natural curls truly are.

When properly moisturized and defined, Raw Indian Curly transforms beautifully. The curls become softer, more defined, dimensional, and full of natural movement while still maintaining the slightly coarse texture that makes raw hair blend so naturally with textured hair.

Raw Indian Curly does require more maintenance than our Virgin curly textures. It behaves very similarly to naturally growing curly hair and responds noticeably to moisture, dryness, product buildup, friction, weather, and your maintenance routine. It is best for Baibes who understand that this texture needs consistent care but love the incredibly natural result that proper maintenance creates.

Because Raw Indian Curly receives its pattern directly from the donor, the exact curl size and shape will naturally vary rather than matching one standardized curl-pattern classification.

      How to measure

      1. Start at your hairlinePlace the end of a soft measuring tape at the center of your front hairline.
      2. Follow your hairlineGuide the tape just above your ear, following your natural hairline.
      3. Go around the napeContinue around the back of your head along your hairline at the nape.
      4. Return to the startWhere the tape meets the starting point is your head circumference.
Between sizes? We recommend sizing up and adjusting the band for a secure fit. A slightly larger cap can be tightened, but a cap that’s too small can’t be loosened.

      Quick tips

      • Snug, not tight. Keep the tape flat against your head without pulling.
      • Measure as you’ll wear it. Wearing your wig over braids? Measure with your hair prepped that way.
      • No measuring tape? Use a piece of string, mark where the ends meet, then lay it flat against a ruler.

      Your length

      Standard vs. extra full

StandardOur recommended bundle quantity for a naturally full look.
Extra fullOne additional bundle for a fuller overall look.

Why longer hair needs more bundles

Each bundle is about 100 grams of hair. As the length increases, more of that weight goes into longer strands, leaving less weft to cover the cap. That’s why longer lengths need more bundles to look just as full.

Fullness vs. volumeFullness is the amount of hair used. Volume is how big the hair looks. Texture and styling affect volume, so curly hair can look more voluminous than straight hair with the same number of bundles.

Most of our wig photos show standard fullness for the length shown. The finished look may vary with texture, length and styling.
